Borosilicate Glass rod
Soda-lime tubular glass products in two grades: “I-860” thermometer glass and “I-880” tubes. The range of products includes transparent glass tubes and rods in both grades.
Our range of capillary tubes, also made from “I-860” thermometer glass, covers round and prismatic forms, but the Optima shape is also available on request
Borosilicate tubular glass products made of “I-330” and “I-510”
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROCESSING
tubing, capillary and rod material properties guarantee a very good workability in glass forming and
dividing, which is usual with technical glass. To remove temporary stress, which originates in processing, it is
appropriate to warm the glass through to a temperature of 550°C and, to leave it at this temperature over a period up to
a maximum 30 minutes; as a rule, in thin-walled products a fraction of this time would suffice. With regard to glass
chemical durability the stabilization time should be as short as possible. For subsequent cooling down, the Annealing
speeds have been recommended in the following tab

Borosilicate Glass Rod
Technical Information
By its chemical composition and properties Simax glass ranks among the types of glass of the group of clear „hard“ borosilicate glass „3.3“, which excel in a high heat and chemical resistance and which are defined by international ČSN ISO 3585 Standard. It complies to the full with the properties prescribed by these standards.

Borosilicate Glass Rod Chemical Properties Products made of SIMAX glass have chemical stability, they are practically inert, and, may be noted by a high resistance to the effects of water, water vapours, acids, salts solutions and by relatively a fair resistance to alkali. Glass is etched by hydrogen fluoride and concentrated trihydrogen phosphate (phosphoric acid), while concentrated hot alkaline solutions corrode glass. Corrosion may be increased, if acid medium alternates with alkaline medium permanently. SIMAX glass chemical resistance has been provided by ISO 3585 Standard, eventually, ČSN ISO 3585, and, it has been accurately assessed using standard international testing methods defined by ISO and DIN ISO Standards.
